Headlines across the country reveal premium hikes from Trump’s big, ugly bill are already setting in. A new analysis from KFF shows that insurance companies are locking in drastic Affordable Care Act (ACA) premium hikes for 2026, with 24 million Americans facing an average increase of 15%. These skyrocketing costs are a direct consequence of Donald Trump and Republicans’ tax bill, which made the largest cuts to health care in history to fund tax breaks for billionaires and big corporations. While insurance companies jack up prices, Republicans have also ripped away tax credits from middle-class families, forcing them to pay up to an average of 75% more. Millions will lose their coverage altogether and millions more will face skyrocking premiums. At a time when too many are struggling to make ends meet, Trump and Congressional Republicans are making health care more expensive and inaccessible for working families while giving CEOs and corporations more tax breaks.
