Protect Our Care Held 11 Events Across 8 States, Including Arizona, Iowa, Maine, New Hampshire, North Carolina, Virginia, West Virginia, and Wisconsin, With National and Local Lawmakers and Advocates
As Medicaid and Medicare mark 60 years of supporting hard-working families, Protect Our Care hosted events across the nation with lawmakers and health care advocates, warning of the catastrophic effects of Trump and Republicans’ spending bill. The bill makes the largest cuts to health care in our nation’s history, slashing over $1 trillion from Medicare, Medicaid, and the Affordable Care Act to fund massive tax breaks for billionaires and big corporations. Not only will this bill rip health care from more than 15 million Americans and raise costs for millions more, but it will also put hundreds of rural hospitals, nursing homes, and care facilities across the country at risk of cutting services or closing their doors, leaving state and local economies to suffer. Instead of protecting working people, Republicans have ripped care from everyday Americans and left entire communities behind so they can give tax breaks to the ultrarich.
