American health care is teetering on the brink. While billionaires and big corporations revel in $1 trillion in GOP tax breaks, the nation has been plunged into a Republican-manufactured health care crisis. In California, hundreds of hospital employees — including nurses, therapists, and surgeons — are being laid off. In Pennsylvania, over 350 hospital workers are losing their jobs, while surgical step-down, intensive care, and endoscopy units are closing. In Illinois, rural communities and hospitals are reeling from GOP Medicaid cuts and bracing for the worst. From every corner of the nation, more than 600 health care providers are at risk of cutting critical services or shutting down entirely.

Every service cut, every hospital closing its doors, and every essential worker fired puts patients’ lives in jeopardy. And come November, voters at the ballot box won’t forget that Trump and Republicans took a hammer to American health care so their billionaire donors can profit from mayhem and misery.
