Washington, D.C. – Beginning Monday, November 17, 2025, Protect Our Care will hold a twelve-state mobile billboard and event blitz and week of action holding Republicans accountable for their votes to gut their constituents’ health care. The campaign will include eighteen events targeting GOP lawmakers in Pennsylvania, Iowa, New Hampshire, Arizona, California, New York, Wisconsin, Michigan, Virginia, Ohio, North Carolina, and Maine, and will include mobile billboard tours of Republican congressional districts in those states and remarks by health care advocates and storytellers.
The ‘Big, Beautiful Bill’ Donald Trump and the GOP passed this summer took $1 trillion from working people’s health care to fund massive tax breaks for big-time GOP donors. That deeply unpopular law has already begun wreaking havoc on Americans across the country – shuttering their hospitals and nursing homes, throwing them off their coverage, and putting their lives at risk. Voters soundly rejected it in bellwether elections across the nation last Tuesday. But rather than reverse course on their health care chaos, House GOP members just spent the longest government shutdown in history pouring gasoline on the fire they set to American families’ budgets. This week they returned to Washington after a 54-day taxpayer-paid vacation to rip away tax credits that help over 24 million people afford their health care.
“Republicans are ripping away working people’s health care, and it’s time we held their feet to the fire,” said Protect Our Care President Brad Woodhouse. “This effort is about reminding GOP lawmakers from Pennsylvania to Arizona that the American people have had enough of the Republican war on health care. Americans won’t give up fighting until Republicans reverse course and start putting health care for their constituents ahead of tax breaks for billionaires.”
