Protect Our Care Continues Events in CA, MN, and NC, Holding Republicans Accountable for Devastating Vote to Cut Health Care.
Today and tomorrow, Protect Our Care is hosting events in California, Minnesota, and North Carolina, headlined by U.S. Representatives Doris Matsui (D-CA-07), Angie Craig (D-MN-02), and health care advocates. Speakers will discuss how Republicans in Congress voted to cut more than $1 trillion from American health care. By slashing Medicaid and the Affordable Care Act, Congressional Republicans voted to rip away health care from 17 million Americans just to fund massive tax breaks for the nation’s wealthiest individuals and corporations. This Republican tax scam guts hospitals, nursing homes, and care facilities across the country of $665 billion in critical funding, putting countless at risk of cutting services or closing their doors. As these devastating cuts take effect, care will become more expensive and harder to access for every American, including low-income seniors, children, people fighting cancer or addiction, veterans, people with disabilities, and people who take care of their children or elderly parents.
