Today, polling analyst Harry Enten reminded CNN viewers why the GOP effort to jack up ACA insurance premiums while funding tax handouts for billionaires is a massive political miscalculation with disastrous consequences for Republicans’ own supporters.
Enten pointed out that not only is the Affordable Care Act widely popular among American voters writ large, but health care cuts disproportionately hurt Republican voters because more Republicans than Democrats now buy insurance on their own.
Enten is far from the only pollster to recognize the broad popularity of the ACA. Poll after poll in recent weeks has shown that American voters will punish the GOP for taking away their health care to give handouts to the ultra-rich.
