Since taking power, Republicans and Donald Trump have launched an unrelenting assault on the nation’s health care system and thrown our entire health care system into chaos – all to fund tax breaks for billionaires and big corporations.
Right now, Americans across the country, including in New York, are experiencing the Republican health care betrayal firsthand as they get their first looks at massive premium hikes for 2026 coverage through their states’ online window shopping tools. Over 20 million people are facing skyrocketing health insurance premiums next year because Donald Trump and congressional Republicans are ripping away tax credits for working people. Families will be forced to make impossible decisions come November 1 as open enrollment starts because of Republicans ending the tax credits.
