Faces of the GOP Health Care Crisis

Faces of the GOP Health Care Crisis spotlights the millions of Americans caught in Trump and congressional Republicans’ war on health care.

From Alaska to Florida, families are sitting at the kitchen table facing gut-wrenching decisions:

Parents are deciding between keeping a roof over their heads, putting food on the table, or paying skyrocketing health premiums.

Farmers are deciding between paying what amounts to their mortgage each month for insurance or risking that an accident while tending the field won’t wipe out their hard-earned life savings.

Small business owners are deciding between shuttering the storefronts they poured blood, sweat, tears, and thousands of dollars into building or dropping coverage to make ends meet.

These heartbreaking dilemmas are a direct result of Donald Trump and congressional Republicans gutting $1 trillion from Medicaid and the Affordable Care Act and ripping away the tax credits over 22 million Americans relied on to see a doctor when they’re sick — all to bankroll tax breaks for billionaires and big corporations.

Now, Americans are getting crushed under the toll of premiums that have doubled, tripled, and quadrupled, and hundreds of hospitals are on the brink of collapse — pushing health costs from hundreds to thousands of dollars a month and forcing Americans to scramble for the care they once had. Trump promised lower costs — he lied. With Faces of the GOP Health Care Crisis, we are making sure the American people know exactly who is getting screwed over so billionaires and big corporations can cash in.

Trump and Republicans’ Health Care Hikes Are Squeezing Working Families

Because of the GOP’s premium hikes:

  • One in three Americans skips meals or other needs to afford health care.
  • One in six Americans who buy insurance on their own are worried they won’t be able to afford insurance at all in 2026.
  • Over one million Americans have already dropped coverage entirely since January — a number that will continue to snowball as the GOP’s premium hikes force more and more financial trade-offs on families stretched to the brink.

Affordability is a hoax to Trump. But for working families, it’s a crisis.
