Republicans are feeling the heat as headlines across the country lay bare the consequences of their decision to end the Affordable Care Act tax credits. From coast to coast, Americans are waking up to stories about rising premiums and disappearing affordable options and they’re furious Republicans once again chose to side with billionaires and big corporations over working families.

In states where window shopping for coverage has opened, families are seeing the sticker shock firsthand: monthly premiums triple the price and fewer choices. These are the results of Republicans’ reckless actions to dismantle the ACA piece by piece, holding the health care system hostage in their political games. The message from the American people couldn’t be clearer: it’s time for Republicans to end this health care shutdown and fix the chaos they’ve unleashed on our health care system.

Yesterday, Protect Our Care was joined by Democratic Leader Chuck Schumer (NY), Senator Patty Murray (WA), and health care advocates to implore the GOP to end the shutdown and stress the conundrum hard-working families are facing as costs skyrocket.
