In reaction to the Trump Administration’s confirmation that Idaho’s Affordable Care Act end-run is wildly illegal, Protect Our Care Campaign Director Brad Woodhouse released the following statement:
“When painted into a corner, the Trump Administration was forced to agree with the lawyers that Idaho’s wildly illegal proposal was doomed to fail in the courts. But make no mistake: Trump’s HHS continues to sabotage the Affordable Care Act at every opportunity. In fact, in its letter to Idaho, the Trump Administration encourages Idaho insurance companies to instead sell junk plans that discriminate against patients with pre-existing conditions and ignore Affordable Care Act consumer protections. Unless this Administration stops pushing junk plans, cutting Medicaid, and trying to repeal the Affordable Care Act, President Trump, Secretary Azar, and Administrator Verma will continue to have zero credibility on health care.”
