The Republican Tax Scam will Rip Away Health Care from 365,984 Arizonans
PHOENIX, AZ — On Tuesday, July 8 at 2:00 PM AZ time/5:00 PM ET, Congressman Greg Stanton will join Arizona health care leaders and advocates with Protect Our Care Arizona to discuss how Republicans in Congress, including Rep. David Schweikert [AZ-01], voted to pass the deepest cuts to health care in American history. By slashing Medicaid and the Affordable Care Act, Rep. Schweikert has voted to rip away health care from 17 million Americans, including 365,984 Arizonans, in order to fund massive tax breaks for the nation’s wealthiest individuals and corporations. As a direct result of this devastating bill, more Arizonans will get sick and experience increased financial hardship just to access basic health care. 423,025 Arizonans will see higher premiums, six hospitals and seven nursing homes will be forced to close and at least 102,567 Arizonans will be forced into medical debt.
Cuts to Medicaid and the Affordable Care Act will force costs to skyrocket for all Arizonans, but Rep. David Schweikert and their fellow Republicans in Congress sold out their constituents to line the pockets of billionaires with even more tax breaks. Speakers will discuss how these cuts will harm health care in Arizona, and hold Rep. David Schweikert accountable for abandoning their constituents.
