Protect Our Care’s Hospital Crisis Watch Map Now Tracks 700 Providers at Risk or Closing Due to the Trump-GOP Health Care Crisis
While billionaires and big corporations bask in the GOP-engineered bonanza of wealth created for the top 1%, the American health care system is in free fall. In Kansas, 30 hospitals are in immediate danger of vanishing from their communities. In Pennsylvania, 12 to 14 hospitals are set to disappear. In Colorado, 70 percent of hospitals report running on unsustainable margins. Nationwide, over 700 hospitals, maternity wards, nursing homes, and other critical providers are at risk of cutting services or shutting down altogether. This is a full-blown health care crisis — one sparked by Donald Trump and congressional Republicans gutting Medicaid to bankroll billionaire tax breaks.
At the ballot box in November, voters won’t forget who caused this tidal wave of provider closures. As rural hospitals shut down, clinics shutter, and birthing centers close their doors, voters will remember exactly who put billionaire giveaways ahead of working people’s health care.
