The latest Navigator Research poll numbers reveal the widening chasm between what hard-working Americans need and what the Trump-GOP government is focused on. Since taking office, the GOP’s sole mission has been to enrich billionaires and big corporations by attacking working families’ health care and jacking up costs for the middle class. This betrayal has not gone unnoticed, as polling shows the American people are furious about the Trump-GOP health care affordability crisis.

Here are the toplines:

  • 🔻57% of Americans disapprove of how Trump is handling health care. From April to December, Trump’s net approval on handling health care has been hemorrhaging, declining from a net negative 8 to a net negative 21 today.
  • 🔻42% of Americans say Trump and the GOP should focus on health care — but only 11% view him as prioritizing it, a negative 31 gap. On the other hand, Democrats’ approval of how they handle health care has been growing, increasing from 25% to 39% from September to now.
  • 🔻62% of Americans are concerned about Trump and the GOP’s Medicaid cuts — including 68% of independents.

This poll confirms what an endless barrage of headlines around the nation has shown: voters are disgusted with Trump and Republicans doubling, tripling, and even quadrupling the health premiums of over 20 million Americans. The American people are taking notice of how the GOP continues to fumble the bag with governing unless the matter at hand involves giving billionaires and big corporations tax breaks. A clean 3-year extension of the Affordable Care Act tax credits is the only majority-supported and bipartisan solution in the House and Senate that can stave off the imminent January 1st GOP premium hikes. Unless Republicans are looking for another shellacking in the 2026 midterms, they need to start prioritizing working families over billionaires.
