Washington D.C. – During his final two of seven Congressional hearings before the Senate Finance and HELP committees today, Trump Health Secretary RFK Jr. quadrupled and quintupled down on the same brazen lies he told at the previous hearings, from laughably dishonest claims on Trump Big Ugly law cuts to Medicaid, denying video of himself suggesting Black children on ADHD meds should be “re-parented”, and having ‘nothing to do with” the measles crisis that he helped create conditions for for years. In the same breath Kennedy claimed he’s “never been anti-vax”, he tellingly refused to commit to support vaccine recommendations from the next CDC director. “Before these hearings even began, RFK Jr. suffered the lowest public trust rating for health information in the country, and the string of easily disprovable lies he spewed this past week did his rock bottom status no favors,” said Kayla Hancock, Director of Protect Our Care’s Public Health Project. “America’s Health Secretary must be trustworthy and guided by peer-reviewed science — not conspiracies and grifter influencers — because lives depend on it. Again and again Kennedy denied his clear and horrific record, confirming he is not capable or willing to be an honest broker of health information, only a super spreader of dangerous science-denialism that has sowed confusion, throttled vaccination rates, spiked health costs, and opened the floodgate for preventable disease. The sooner RFK Jr. is stripped of his power at HHS, the healthier Americans will be, particularly children who have suffered most from his vaccine smear and obstruction campaign.”
WORST LIES FROM RFK JR.’S TESTIMONY TODAY:
LIE: “There are a million illegal immigrants on Medicaid … We’re getting rid of those people”
REALITY: A RAND analysis of the Trump Big Ugly Law found that out of the 7.5 million people projected to lose Medicaid coverage, 98% of coverage loss is expected to come from the policies that have nothing to do with immigration status.
LIE: TrumpRX is making a difference.
REALITY: The New York Times reported Americans would pay twice as much through TrumpRx as other countries for many drugs, including GLP-1s. As of March 2026, a record high six in ten Americans are worried about being able to afford prescription drug costs under RFK Jr. Meanwhile, RFK Jr. gaslights the millions of Americans who are forced to skip prescriptions and ration doses every day.
LIE: The Trump administration is delivering ”the largest investment in rural health in our nation’s history.”
REALITY: The Trump administration passed the most unprecedented cuts to rural health care in history: gutting over $1 trillion from Medicaid and the ACA, putting over 330 rural hospitals at risk of closure and service cuts, shuttering rural clinics across the country, and hiking premiums for millions of rural Americans. GOP cuts are crumbling an already strained infrastructure, expanding maternity care deserts, and leaving Americans from Iowa to Georgia more than 45 minutes away from the care they need.
