Washington D.C. –  During his Energy & Commerce health subcommittee testimony today, Trump Health Secretary RFK Jr. dispelled any notion that the Trump administration has abandoned its highly dangerous, hugely unpopular anti-vax agenda. Asked point-blank by Rep. Raul Ruiz if he would commit on the record to implement without interference the vaccine guidance that may be issued by Donald Trump’s nominee for CDC Director, Dr. Erica Schwartz, Kennedy flatly refused.  RFK Jr.’s unwillingness to respect his potential CDC director’s medical expertise when he has none of his own is eerily reminiscent of his decision to fire the last Senate-approved Trump CDC director because she dared to refuse to “pre-approve vaccine recommendations for the public and fire career scientists.”

“So much for the Trump administration’s alleged pivot away from RFK Jr.’s dangerous anti-vax agenda that most Americans hate,” said Kayla Hancock, Director of Protect Our Care’s Public Health Project. “Trump’s unqualified and incompetent health secretary simply cannot help himself. His obsession with smearing vaccine safety and efficacy, no matter how much peer-reviewed science disproves him, is unshakable. By refusing to allow the potential next CDC director to do her job on vaccine recommendations without his meddling, Kennedy all but admitted he’s going to do it again to the detriment of children’s well-being. He’s got to go.”
