Washington D.C. – Trump Health Secretary RFK Jr. has never been a stickler for the truth even when presented with overwhelming evidence that runs counter to his frequent wild, unsubstantiated, science-denying claims. Unsurprisingly, Kennedy could not even get through his first of seven Congressional hearings without boldly lying about the harmful rhetoric that came directly from his mouth.
In an extraordinary exchange, Congresswoman Terri Sewell (AL-7) confronted Kennedy about deeply offensive and unhinged statements he made just two years ago suggesting that black children on ADHD medication should be “re-parented,” which Kennedy vehemently denied and demanded to see the video.
Okay, here’s the video of RFK Jr. from the 19Keys show in 2024: “Every Black kid is now just standard put on Adderall, SSRIs, benzos, which are known to induce violence. And those kids are going to have a chance to go somewhere and get re-parented — to live in a community where there’ll be no cellphones, no screens. You’ll actually have to talk to people.”
“RFK Jr. can run from his despicable views that black children on ADHD medication should be taken from their parents, but he can’t hide from the video receipts,” said Kayla Hancock, Director of Protect Our Care’s Public Health Project. “This is classic RFK Jr. – make reckless and unfounded claims like impugning vaccine safety and then take no responsibility when it comes back to haunt him. The problem is, when someone of Kennedy’s celebrity and power as Health Secretary carelessly spews discredited myths and blatantly racist rhetoric, it matters and hurts a lot of people.”
