Washington D.C. – The Wall Street Journal reports the HHS is “moving about $12 million from its Office of Minority Health to help cover the ballooning cost of security” for RFK Jr., even as the “secretary’s office has a large pot of discretionary money that it could have tapped for the cost.”
In response, Protect Our Care president Brad Woodhouse said: “Secretary Kennedy didn’t need to rob health resources from the most vulnerable, but he did it anyway for his own benefit. Somehow RFK Jr can always find plenty of tax dollars for flying high in military jets or promoting his own brand, from celebrity cooking shows to vanity podcasts. Yet Kennedy would rather help himself to money meant to fix gross health disparities in underserved communities of color. Never mind all the available discretionary funds he could have used. The Trump administration always comes after resources for women, people of color, and those with disabilities first, while their own grift, vanity projects and billionaire tax breaks are strictly off limits.”
