Their policies will worsen care and drive up costs for everyone.

Lorenza Cortez lost her vision to diabetes and her husband, Eleuterio Mexicano, faces several chronic health challenges. They are from Fresno County, a rural community in California, and worry that the Medicaid cuts will affect their ability to access and afford critical care.
“We’re anxious about all of this because you don’t know what to do about these changes,” she told Fresnoland. “If they take our insurance, we don’t know what we would do. The stress and anxiety can make you sicker.”
