The GOP’s health care crisis is mounting. Thanks to Trump and Republicans gutting $1 trillion from Medicaid to bankroll tax breaks for billionaires and big corporations, nearly 800 hospitals, nursing homes, and other critical providers nationwide have shuttered, are at risk of closing, or have been forced to cut essential services. In California, Republicans have pushed hospitals into dire financial straits, leading to 3,400 layoffs statewide. In North Carolina, a woman’s health clinic is shuttering after 40 years of serving the Greenville community. In Wisconsin, rural Americans are reeling as their local clinic, which has served Waupaca County for generations, is closing its doors.

Mothers are being forced to give birth in maternal care deserts, rural communities are being left without access to care altogether, and nurses, therapists, and physicians are being laid off en masse — all while costs are skyrocketing for everyone, everywhere. At the ballot box in November, voters will hold Trump and Republicans to account for orchestrating this madness, all so they can pad the pockets of billionaires and big corporations while hard-working taxpayers pay the price.
