Ever since Donald Trump and Republicans made the largest cuts to health care in history to fund tax breaks for billionaires and big corporations, hospitals have been pushed deeper into crisis, clinics are shutting down, labor and delivery units are disappearing, and providers are warning they may not survive. From Alabama to Wyoming, local headlines are painting the same picture: health care providers are overwhelmed, underfunded, and bracing for even worse. Rural communities are being hit especially hard as essential services disappear and patients are forced to travel farther and wait longer to get life-saving care. Every hospital closure, shuttered clinic, overcrowded ER, and family forced to travel hours for care is another reminder that working families are paying the price of Republicans’ devastating health care cuts.
