The latest polling is clear: the American people do not trust Republicans to end the health care affordability crisis they created — and they won’t forgive them for orchestrating it. Trump and congressional Republicans slashed over $1 trillion from Medicaid and the Affordable Care Act to fund tax breaks for billionaires and big corporations, leading to millions spanning from bustling coastal cities and rural heartland towns to struggle between putting food on the table and affording their health care. Since their big, ugly bills’ passage, hospitals, clinics, and providers are shuttering or cutting services, or are at risk of doing so, and care is vanishing virtually overnight. As health care becomes the top concern for voters due to the fallout of the GOP health care betrayal rippling throughout the nation, Trump and congressional Republicans are prioritizing billions for a gold-plated ballroom, bombs, and billionaires. Polls show that in November, voters will make their voices heard on the crisis Trump and Republicans can’t outrun.
