Across the country, families are feeling the pain of rising health care costs after Republicans ripped away the Affordable Care Act (ACA) tax credits, causing premium prices to skyrocket. Open enrollment is officially over, but the full toll of the premium hikes are just beginning. From seniors stuck paying nearly $1,000 a month for plans that barely cover the basics to middle-class families spending more than they pay on their mortgage just to keep coverage, no one is left untouched by the GOP war on health care. American families are facing impossible tradeoffs, choosing between keeping their health coverage and paying for essentials like rent, groceries, and gas. ACA enrollment is dropping in red and blue states alike as families are priced out of care and have to go uninsured. This is a growing affordability crisis of the GOP’s own making and the message from communities across the country is clear: the American people have had enough of the Trump-GOP health care price hikes.
