Headlines From National Outlets and 25 States
As of January 1st, nearly 22 million hard-working Americans are now experiencing doubled, tripled, even quadrupled health care premiums—the largest increases they’ve ever seen—because Trump and Republicans cut health care for working people to fund tax breaks for billionaires. Headlines across the country reflect Americans’ contempt for the Republican health care fiasco. From Maine small business owners to Iowa dairy farmers, the Trump-GOP cost hikes leave no family unscathed. For many, skyrocketing health insurance premiums mean closing a family business, rationing lifesaving medications, or losing their health insurance entirely. 15 million Americans are projected to lose coverage in the coming years because Republicans took a hammer to working people’s health care. As the consequences of the GOP’s actions continue to mount, the American people won’t soon forget that Trump and his congressional allies have used their power in Washington to make life less affordable for all but the biggest corporations and wealthiest families.
