Washington, D.C. – Leslie Dach, chair of Protect Our Care, issued a statement on the passing of David Mitchell, founder of Patients for Affordable Drugs:

“We mourn the loss of David Mitchell and extend our deepest condolences to his family, loved ones, and everyone who had the privilege of working alongside him. After his own diagnosis, David founded Patients for Affordable Drugs to ensure no one had to choose between lifesaving medication and putting food on the table. His work culminated when Medicare drug price negotiation was signed into law by President Biden after being passed by Democrats in Congress. David was a fearless champion for patients, and millions of people across the country are enjoying lower drug prices thanks to his advocacy. David’s legacy lives on in the movement he built, and we honor him by continuing the fight to put patients first and hold drug companies accountable.”
