RFK Jr. Claims “The Cuts Are Not True Cuts” As Millions Of Americans Pay The Price
RFK Jr. is helping Trump implement the largest cuts to health care in history to bankroll tax breaks for billionaires and corporations. Now, the damage is playing out across the country: more than 15 million Americans are at risk of losing coverage, over 800 hospitals, clinics, nursing homes, and other critical providers are closing, cutting essential services, or are at risk of closing, and people are losing their jobs. Costs have exploded and families are being pushed to the brink. Every day, millions of families trapped in the GOP’s health care affordability crisis are forced to make gut-wrenching decisions about their futures yet RFK Jr. continues to gaslight them. Here is the reality for millions across America:
RHETORIC
REALITY
“Americans do not like the Affordable Care Act, they don’t like Medicaid.” -RFK Jr. on 1/29/25
The vast majority of Americans have a favorable view of Medicaid (80%) and the Affordable Care Act (61%). Together, these programs provided health care to nearly 100 million or one-third of Americans, ensuring millions could afford cancer treatment for their kids, nursing home care for their mom or dad, or other care when they needed it.
“There’s no cuts on Medicaid.” – RFK Jr. on 7/14/25
The Big, Ugly Bill touted by RFK Jr. cut nearly $1 trillion from Medicaid, the largest cuts to the program in history. Three million Americans have lost their Medicaid coverage since its passage and millions more will be kicked off their health care when deeper cuts hit in 2027, all to give tax breaks to the rich.
“Obamacare is not working.” – RFK Jr. on 5/13/25
The Affordable Care Act (ACA) led the U.S. to its highest levels of health coverage in history. In 2025, ACA tax credits cut premiums in half for over 20 million working Americans. Nearly 50 million Americans have relied on the ACA since its passage.
“These cuts are not true cuts, they are eliminations of waste, abuse and fraud.” – RFK Jr. on 5/13/25
If RFK and Trump were serious about fraud, they’d go after the corporations and executives ripping off American taxpayers. Instead, RFK stood by while Trump handed them pardons and cut coverage for hardworking families to bankroll tax breaks for the same corporations driving up health care costs. These cuts do nothing to lower costs for working families.
