Washington, DC – Today, Senator Catherine Cortez Masto (D-NV) along with Rep. Steven Horsford (D-NV-04) introduced the Dependent Income Exclusion Act, a bill that takes much-needed action to lower the costs of health care for working families. The bill makes health care more affordable by expanding access to tax credits for working families with children who are working while enrolled in higher education or job training. Working families face far too many barriers accessing quality health care and this legislation takes much-needed action to lower costs by expanding access to premium tax credits for middle and low-income families. While Republicans’ continued sabotage raises costs and restricts access to health care, Senator Cortez Masto and Rep. Horsford are taking the necessary action to expand access and lower the cost of health care for working families.”
