Washington, D.C. — Today, Senate Democrats are moving to block a Trump administration rule that would strip Affordable Care Act (ACA) coverage from millions more people and make health care even more expensive. The rule is the latest in a series of attacks on the ACA, coming after Trump and Republicans ripped away health care tax credits that millions relied on to see their doctor. Now, Democrats are fighting back to stop the administration from piling even more costs and red tape onto families already struggling to afford health care.
Protect Our Care Chair Leslie Dach released the following statement:
“Trump and Republicans have plunged working families into a health care crisis, and they are determined to make things worse. Time and time again, the GOP has put American families last on their priority list. Instead of helping families afford the lifesaving care they need, Republicans ransacked $1 trillion from health care to fund tax breaks for their billionaire buddies and ripped away the tax credits that millions of Americans relied on just to see a doctor. Now the Trump administration has designed a rule that would undermine the ACA and jack up prices even higher, giving Republicans a clear choice: stand with Democrats to put a stop to the sabotage, or make things even worse for families across the nation.”
