Washington D.C. – Of the eight newly named members of a Trump-RFK Jr. FDA committee that recommends whether to ‘allow compounding pharmacies to manufacture certain peptides’, STAT reports a majority “are involved with businesses that promote and prescribe peptides, and will be weighing in on rules changes that could benefit them.”

Health Secretary Kennedy has declared himself a “big fan” of peptides despite their unproven benefits and ‘potential cancer risks.’ His HHS reportedly handpicked the new panelists over the concerns of FDA staff “about potential conflicts of interest.”

“Those concerns were ignored,” an FDA insider told STAT.

Kayla Hancock, Director of Protect Our Care’s Public Health Project: “While Secretary Kennedy regularly fearmongers safe and effective vaccines, he’s always game to rush the latest under-studied fad into public hands without bothering to explore the potential health risks. This time around, Kennedy is so hell-bent on pushing unproven peptides to the American public, that he’s packed the FDA committee with people who stand to get rich off a government seal of approval. Kennedy acts like enriching the grifty supplement industry is his job while refusing to do his actual job of mitigating potential threats to public health. It’s classic RFK Jr., eager to promote dubious miracle cures without doing due diligence on whether they do more harm than good. It’s also classic Trump administration, welcoming egregious conflicts of interest so long as their wealthy friends and corporate donors make out like bandits, even when it’s at the public’s expense.”
