Over 1,100 hospitals, clinics, and essential service providers have closed, faced cuts, or are at risk of doing so after Trump and Republicans slashed over $1 trillion from Medicaid and the Affordable Care Act (ACA) to fund tax breaks for billionaires and big corporations. Today, our parents, our neighbors, and our kids are paying the price as access to care rapidly disappears. All across the country, hospitals are experiencing a surging tide of uninsured patients as health care costs climb and more people lose coverage. Expectant mothers in Maine are being pushed farther from the care they need as local labor and delivery units close their doors. In Georgia, one of the state’s largest health care systems laid off nearly 800 of its employees. Our health care system is being decimated — all to bankroll tax breaks for billionaires and big corporations. Come November, voters won’t forget who sabotaged their health care, and they hold Republicans accountable for their betrayal.
