Donald Trump and Congressional Republicans are unleashing a full-scale health care crisis across America after slashing more than $1 trillion from Medicaid and the Affordable Care Act to fund tax breaks for billionaires and big corporations. Hospitals are laying off workers, closing departments, cutting critical services, and warning they may not survive the financial devastation caused by these reckless cuts. Rural hospitals, maternity wards, cancer clinics, mental health providers, and community health centers are all being pushed to the brink as states scramble to manage massive budget shortfalls. Families are already seeing the consequences as the fallout grows and ripples through communities nationwide. Expectant mothers are being forced to travel farther for care, children are losing access to specialty services, and seniors and people with chronic illnesses are facing increasing barriers to treatment. Across the country, providers, patients, and local leaders are warning that these cuts are creating a dangerous and entirely preventable health care emergency.

Protect Our Care’s Hospital Crisis Watch has reached over 900 hospitals, nursing homes, maternity wards, and other critical providers that have closed, cut essential services, or are at risk of doing so.
