Trump, RFK Jr. Still On Same Page With Spreading Dangerous Misinformation
Washington D.C. – For months, the White House PR machine has pushed a narrative that the Trump-RFK Jr. anti-vax agenda has been “reined in” after a wave of internal and external polling showed it to be political poison for Republicans. All that went right out the window this weekend with Donald Trump’s interview on Sinclair’s ‘Full Measure’ that included wildly false Trump claims that over 80 vaccines are mandated for American kids and that slashing the CDC’s childhood vaccine schedule would bring a “better result with the autism.”
FACT: A major analysis released in December from the WHO global expert committee on vaccine safety found zero causal link exists between vaccines and autism spectrum disorders (ASD), “with evidence based on 31 primary research studies, published between January 2010 and August 2025, including data from multiple countries”. Still, Trump chose to ignore the dozens of peer-reviewed studies fully debunking the autism-vaccine myth – in total alignment with his conspiracy-driven health secretary RFK Jr. who declared on national television in 2023 “I do believe that autism comes from vaccines”, and who is now leading a multi-pronged effort to make vaccine innovation non-viable for manufacturers based on that conspiracy theory, likely in order to enrich his allies with legal fees from frivolous lawsuits.
FACT: On behalf of RFK Jr.’s HHS, Trump’s own DOJ is currently appealing a federal court ruling that stopped his CDC from cutting the child vaccine schedule recommendations – not mandates – down to 11 from 17, not “over 80.”
“There is no worse threat to trust in vaccine safety than the President of the United States himself projecting completely debunked anti-vax disinformation on the national stage,” said Kayla Hancock, Director of Protect Our Care’s Public Health Project. “We’ve already seen a deadly drop in vaccination rates and a spike in preventable disease as a direct result of Trump’s health secretary spreading such propaganda, which makes Donald Trump playing this game even more dangerous and despicable. Trump and RFK Jr. are so hell-bent on fear-mongering childhood vaccines that they have no scruples spreading lies that will harm American kids.”
