Washington D.C. – Protect Our Care released a report, ‘MAHA Betrayed’, that looks back at the many ways Donald Trump and Health Secretary Robert Kennedy Jr have turned their back on the MAHA movement to enrich industry donors that make Americans less healthy, from pesticide manufacturers to big tobacco.  “Donald Trump and RFK Jr. keep treating MAHA activists like disposable political pawns and now wonder why many resent it,” said Protect Our Care president Brad Woodhouse. “There’s not one MAHA promise Trump hasn’t been willing to break once the checks clear from his big chemical, food and tobacco donors. Food, air, water safety and kids’ health have all been compromised to feed profits for makers of addictive fruit flavored vapes, cancer-linked pesticides, and PFAS forever chemicals. And every time RFK Jr. proves himself a phony by making excuses for Trump’s latest MAHA double-cross, like making glyphosate great again.”

The new report, first reported by HuffPost, comes on the heels of the corporate-captured ‘MAHA Summit’ last week that failed to impress longtime MAHA activists, or do anything to win back the 68 percent of rural MAHA supporters who say “Trump hasn’t improved health of their communities.”

It also follows Politico’s new reporting that host of the MAHA Summit, Tony Lyons — a longtime Kennedy friend and ‘president of a web of MAHA nonprofits and political groups’ – is accused of “selling out to business interests who want Kennedy’s ear now that he’s President Donald Trump’s health secretary.”  Lyons’ MAHA Political Action Committee has “fewer than 20 donors this year,” many of whom are “companies that have interests before the Health Department.”

The PAC is even exploiting MAHA supporters to the benefit of RFK Jr’s son. Politico adds that “MAHA supporters can join the movement on the MAHA Action website through a series of tiered subscriptions, costing up to $6,000 a year. MAHA Holdings administers the subscriptions. Finn Kennedy, one of Kennedy’s sons, sits on MAHA Holdings’ board.”

“It’s not the first time RFK Jr’s family has benefited from his government job, and it won’t be the last,” added Woodhouse.
