Washington D.C. – In a potential “landmark moment” for fighting cancer, a large-scale clinical trial found an experimental mRNA vaccine “allowed people with high-risk melanoma to live longer, cancer-free”, which experts say “could help establish a new way of treating cancer” with “versions of the treatment are already being studied in lung, kidney, bladder and other cancers.”
The potential gamechanger comes despite the anti-vaccine Trump administration’s best efforts to squash the highly promising technology. One of infamous anti-vaxxer RFK Jr.’s first actions as Trump health secretary was to abruptly scrap nearly $500 million in mRNA-related research and development contracts – an asinine act of self-sabotage as emerging mRNA vaccines against cancer “could save 49,000 American lives annually and contribute $75 billion annually to the economy.” As one prominent infectious disease physician noted, Secretary Kennedy’s ‘evidence’ against mRNA vaccines “doesn’t support ending the research — it makes the case for expanding it.”
