Washington D.C. – Politico reports U.S. Rep. Robert Garcia (D-CA-42), the ranking member on the Oversight and Government Reform Committee, has Trump Health Secretary Kennedy in his sights as a “prime target for investigation if Democrats regain control of the House.” Garcia, who just released a major committee report outlining the many ways the Trump administration has harmed public health, warns: “The secretary needs to be very worried and very concerned because what he is doing is exactly what we’re going to focus on.”
“While even some Republicans in Congress have raised ‘concern’ over RFK Jr’s dismantling of public health infrastructure in favor of anti-science schemes, none have been willing to investigate his many decisions that threatened American lives and the shady special interests behind them,” said Kayla Hancock, Director of Protect Our Care’s Public Health Project. “That could soon change and there’s been more than a whiff of corruption and incompetence from Kennedy that’s certainly worth exploring in the public interest. Of course, RFK Jr. could spare himself some embarrassment and potential legal troubles by simply doing what many in the medical and public health community have been calling for for months: resign. There are too many reasons to count for RFK Jr. to resign today, but chief among them is the lives that would be spared.”
