Washington D.C. – The Wall Street Journal broke the news that Calley Means – a top RFK Jr ally and “key player in driving a number of MAHA policies” — is quitting the Trump administration “after frustrations with White House delays on Kennedy’s food agenda … allowing food companies and special interests to have too much sway.”

Means’ departure follows the scorecard released earlier this month by prominent MAHA activists finding the Trump administration “broke more than 85% of its promises to MAHA on food, agriculture and environmental health,” which mirrored many of the same industry sellouts documented in Protect Our Care’s report, “MAHA Betrayed.” Meanwhile, a recent AP-KFF poll found 68 percent of rural MAHA supporters say “Trump hasn’t improved health of their communities.”

“Donald Trump is hemorrhaging MAHA support even from within his administration,” said Brad Woodhouse, president of Protect Our Care. “Again and again RFK Jr helped Donald Trump sell out MAHA priorities to protect profits of the GOP’s big chemical, food and tobacco donors. Patience has already run dry for many MAHA supporters. Now Kennedy’s right-hand man can’t stomach staying in the administration after all the rug pulls, phony excuses and corporate surrender. Means’ exit is a clear sign that Donald Trump has no intention of mending MAHA fences, and activists should brace for even more deregulation of cancer-causing pesticides, forever chemicals in water, and flavored vapes aimed at kids.”
