And that’s a wrap on week two of Protect Our Care’s “Sick of It! Fix Health Care Now” nearly 8,000-mile bus tour! This week, “Care Force One” rolled through Virginia, North Carolina, Georgia, and Ohio, bringing the fight for affordable, accessible health care straight to the doorsteps of communities hit hard by Republican health care cuts. As families across the country struggle with skyrocketing premiums and lost coverage, patients are making it clear: they’re sick of paying the price for Trump and Republicans’ decision to slash more than $1 trillion from Medicaid and the Affordable Care Act (ACA) to bankroll tax cuts for billionaires and big corporations. At every stop, lawmakers, health care advocates, and community members came together to hold Donald Trump and Republicans accountable for their health care cuts and lay out a path forward, from restoring ACA tax credits and reversing Medicaid cuts to lowering prescription drug prices. Next week, “Care Force One” hits the road again, making stops across Michigan, Wisconsin, and Iowa.
