Washington D.C. – A treasure trove of internal CDC emails published this week by Democrats on the Senate HELP Committee and reported by the NYT reveal that almost immediately after RFK Jr’s confirmation, Trump’s health secretary and his top aides began installing his deadly anti-vax agenda over the objections of CDC leaders and career scientists and at the grave expense of public health. Among the findings in the unearthed emails, out of public view Kennedy and his political goons “altered vaccine recommendations and released material to the public without CDC expert review or input”, pushed the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP) to restrict access to vaccines, and dispatched a disgraced researcher on a hunt for any evidence of the already disproven autism-vaccine link “without proper clearance to review sensitive data or any limitations on his access.”
But most damning of all, as reported by the Times: “Less than 24 hours after Robert F. Kennedy Jr. became the nation’s health secretary, his press secretary delivered an order from him to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention: Take down your advertising campaign promoting flu vaccines. It was Feb. 14, 2025. Flu season was in full swing and it was a bad one. That same day, the C.D.C. reported that influenza-related ailments had killed 68 children — 11 that week alone — and 16,000 people overall. There had been 29 million reported cases and 370,000 hospitalizations.”
“It speaks volumes that Trump’s health secretary RFK Jr.’s first order of business was risking Americans’ lives with preventable illnesses with his heavy-handed and discredited anti-vax agenda rather than working to make America healthy,” said Kayla Hancock, Director of Protect Our Care’s Public Health Project. “On day one, RFK Jr. personally ordered a pull-down of all flu vaccine public service ads in the middle of an exceptionally harsh flu season, which almost certainly made the population more vulnerable and cost kids and seniors their lives. This act alone was impeachable malpractice for any health official. But it was only the beginning of RFK Jr.’s obsessive obstruction of life-saving public information affirming the overwhelming scientific consensus that vaccines are safe and effective, while aggressively promoting any debunked claim undermining that fact. Over a year later, Kennedy remains as committed as ever to his anti-vax agenda despite its unpopularity, continued lack of any scientific justification, or the enormous human toll it’s taken as vaccination rates keep dropping and preventable disease keeps spreading. Calls for Kennedy’s resignation have never been louder.”
It Never Ends: Just yesterday, Kennedy’s CDC published a watered-down new charter for the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP) – a transparent attempt to skirt a federal judge’s decision in March that froze RFK Jr’s “distinctly unqualified” and mostly anti-vax picks for the advisory board by grossly lowering the legal and qualification standards for his next round of hand-picked, science-denying ACIP members.
